Mike Cruz A Hesperia parolee who rode a three-wheel ATV on Sunday was arrested after he reportedly ran over a resident who had asked him to slow down. Sheriff's deputies responded to a report of a hit-and-run at 11 a.m. in the 9200 block of Glendale Avenue, in Hesperia. James Allen Bogdan, 29, was arrested and booked into Victor Valley Jail, in Victorville, according to a statement from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department. The victim told deputies that Bogdan was riding the ATV in an area near Glendale Avenue, just north of Vine Street, when he asked Bogdan to slow down. The ATV left the roadway, then re-entered the roadway and drove directly over the victim, sheriff's officials said. The victim suffered serious injuries and Bogdan fled. Emergency personnel transported the victim to a local hospital by helicopter for treatment of his injuries. Deputies conducted an investigation and found Bogdan at a residence in the 17800 block of Vine Street. However, Bogdan ran out the back door. With assistance from a California Highway Patrol helicopter, Bogdan was quickly taken into custody. When placed into a patrolcar, Bogdan kicked out a window, continued to fight and kick deputies, and had to be further restrained. A parole search was conducted at Bogdan's residence, and authorities found loose, non-prescribed Vicodin pills in his bedroom. Bogdan was booked into Victor Valley Jail on suspicion of hit-and-run, possession of a controlled substance and vandalism, according to the Sheriff's Department. Bogdan is being held on $50,000 bail. -- |
