The discussion will cover a proposed amendment to the county's zoning ordinance related to private OHV tracks. The subject was originally brought to the board last year by Chico Supervisor Jane Dolan. She said she had received repeated complaints from people living in the vicinity of a Santa Clara Avenue site where a private off-highway vehicle track had been established. County staff said, while there are no current code regulations relating to such tracks, it appeared that the operations are "substantially similar" uses that are allowed with use permits in some zones. The proposed amendment to the county's zoning ordinance would establish which zones could be appropriate sites for the tracks, and would create regulations for minimum lot sizes, distances from residences, allowable noise levels and other items for use permits.
