Crystal Haynes New Haven (AP) - As the weather warms up you'll likely see more motorcycles out on the roads, but illegal street bikes and ATVs will also become more of a problem. The New Haven Police Department has one strong warning for folks with these types of vehicles: keep them off the road, they are illegal to use there. Dirt bikes, All Terrain Vehicles and unregistered vehicles are illegal in the city of New Haven and can be dangerous for the driver and the community at large. Last week a New Haven man was arrested for attempting to flee police while driving an ATV. Michael Fernandez, 30, was charged with reckless driving, endangerment, interfering with a police officer and criminal mischief. New Haven police want your help. When you see a dirt bike or an ATV they want you to call their anonymous tip line at 203-946-6956. "Nevada Sheriffs' and Chiefs' Association worked closely with the Nevada OHV community to develop our current law and we believe that when fully implemented it will be very helpful in dealing with the problems of theft of OHVs and it will go a long way in identifying those who participate in destructive acts on or off public lands." - Frank Adams of the Nevada Sheriffs’ and Chiefs’ Association |
