A Hopkins County man is charged with wanton endangerment and running from authorities.

The sheriff's office says 38-year-old Rodney Abbott of Nortonville led a deputy on a chase into Christian County where Abbott's pickup truck hit a four wheeler.

The deputy ended the pursuit and stopped to help the ATV rider who apparently was not seriously injured.
Abbott was arrested two days later during a traffic stop.

"Nevada Sheriffs' and Chiefs' Association worked closely with the Nevada OHV community to develop our current law and we believe that when fully implemented it will be very helpful in dealing with the problems of theft of OHVs and it will go a long way in identifying those who participate in destructive acts on or off public lands."
