A Lincoln man, Devin R. Kreikemeier, was arrested on suspicion of motor vehicle homicide following a fatal ATV crash in northeast Nebraska early Saturday.

The crash killed passenger Travis Williams, a 34-year-old from Brewster, Minn.

Kreikemeier, the driver, and a second passenger, 48-year-old Scott Jensen of Dell Rapids, S.D., received minor injuries.

Police in Wisner, located northwest of West Point along the Elkhorn River, say Kreikemeier, 36, was driving an ATV through a Wisner park when it flipped over the rope of a large tent set up for a tractor pull, according to a press release.

Kreikemeier was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and motor vehicle homicide. He was taken to jail in Madison but has since bonded out.

Thousands of people were in Wisner Saturday for the Thunder by the River Tractor Pull. Investigators were also at the tractor pull and were unable to answer questions about the ATV incident, said a dispatcher.

"Nevada Sheriffs' and Chiefs' Association worked closely with the Nevada OHV community to develop our current law and we believe that when fully implemented it will be very helpful in dealing with the problems of theft of OHVs and it will go a long way in identifying those who participate in destructive acts on or off public lands."
