JD Malone A 20-year-old Coopersburg man struck a patrol vehicle with his all-terrain vehicle early this morning and wasn't detained until he was held at gunpoint after a joyride through streets and parking lots along Stefko Boulevard, Bethlehem police report. Michael Williams was driving a four-wheel ATV on Geraldine Street, through lots, over snow banks and on Stefko Boulevard in the wee hours this morning as police tried to corral his activity, according to police. |

Suspect Brett Marsh headed to court Wednesday to face charges including aggravated assault on a police officer, but instead additional charges were added, including attempted homicide of the third degree and retaliation for past official acts. Marsh is accused of running over Windber Police Officer John Rice with an ATV in November. |

Linda Wilson Fuoco The use and popularity of "rails to trails" continues to grow -- even in the winter -- as evidenced by animal paw prints, human footprints and bicycle tire imprints on the snow-covered Montour Trail. Last year in the snowy winter months, increasing numbers of cross-country skiers joined hikers, bikers and joggers along the airport segment of the recreational pathway, which follows the former Montour Railroad freight line through Robinson, Moon, North Fayette and Findlay. |

Clarke Even though police Chief Josh McCurdy thought the all-terrain vehicle and dirt bike problem had been resolved, the three residents being affected - Crystal and Kurt Hess and Leonard Lutomski, all of Parker Street - told borough council on Monday that people continue to drive ATVs around their homes, causing noise problems. "We are here for two reasons," Kurt Hess said, "four-wheelers and dirt bikes." |

Fairfield County sheriff’s deputies responded to Royalton Cemetery, 8514 Royalton Road, Lancaster around 3 p.m. Saturday after an anonymous caller informed them that two juveniles were trespassing in the cemetery, according to the Fairfield County sheriff’s report. |

A police officer was run over by an ATV after he tried to stop a man from riding the vehicle on private property in western Pennsylvania. Windber Police Officer John Rice was struck early Thursday morning after he ordered the driver to stop. The 55-year-old Rice was in fair condition at a Johnstown hospital. |

Kelly Monitz Police Chief Mike Morresi doesn't know how out-of-town all-terrain vehicle riders found Beaver Meadows, but he knows he wants them out of his Carbon County borough. Last month, he caught only one of 12 riders who sped along Route 93 and ran cars off the state highway. But to do so, Morresi had to run the fleeing rider off the road. The chase exceeded speeds of 70 mph, he said. |
