Allison Steele Police today said they have arrested two men who they believe ran over a man with their all-terrain vehicles in Kensington last month, critically injuring him. Carlos Rivera, 28, and Sergio Lopez, 22, are charged with aggravated assault, criminal conspiracy and other charges. A warrant is being prepared to charge a third person in the attack, police said. Rivera, of the 3400 block of Crystal Street, and Lopez, of the 2100 block of East Stella street, are accused of severely injuring a 29-year-old Philadelphia man on Sept. 14. The man had been driving on the 400 block of East Ontario Street when he met with a group of eight to 10 ATV riders blocking the road. He confronted the group, which police said included Rivera and Lopez, then attempted to leave. Members of the group threw objects at his car and chased him, police said, leading to the crash. When the man got out of the car, the riders knocked him down and ran over him, police said. -- Source: http://www.philly.com/philly/news/20091007_Police_arrest_two_in_Kensington_ATV_attack.html

"Nevada Sheriffs' and Chiefs' Association worked closely with the Nevada OHV community to develop our current law and we believe that when fully implemented it will be very helpful in dealing with the problems of theft of OHVs and it will go a long way in identifying those who participate in destructive acts on or off public lands." - Frank Adams of the Nevada Sheriffs’ and Chiefs’ Association |
